Kohima: SAMETI wrapped up a five-day training program for government agricultural officers on July 10. The sessions focused on human resource development skills to improve efficiency in the field. Officials from agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and veterinary departments attended the event at Medziphema.
Bodevi Shuya, Director of SAMETI and Principal of the Institute of Extension Training Centre, opened the program. He urged staff to adopt new skills to better serve the public. He pushed for a culture of sincerity in the office. Shuya noted, "The importance of human resource development for government officials" remains a top priority for effective work.
Dr. Rajumoni Bordoloi, Director of the Extension Education Institute in Guwahati, also spoke. He told the staff they must keep learning to stay relevant. Technology is changing, and extension workers need to keep pace to help farmers effectively.
Resource experts led technical sessions throughout the week. Speakers included Dr. Sajib Boruah, Dr. Watimongla Jamir, and various faculty from Nagaland University. Staff from the Agricultural Technology Management Agency also joined the training to sharpen their professional skills.
