Sainik School Punglwa reviews academic and infrastructure goals

Kohima: Sainik School Punglwa held its 33rd Local Board of Administration meeting on July 10, 2026. Major General Naveen Kumar Nijhawan, Chief of Staff of the Spear Corps, led the session. Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir also attended the event on the school grounds.

The board gathered in the conference hall to evaluate the school's direction. Principal Col (Dr) Smita Misra delivered a briefing on infrastructure projects and academic goals. She outlined plans to boost NDA performance and student development. The board analyzed these strategies to push for better results across the campus.

Several officials participated, including Peren Deputy Commissioner Hiazu Meru and representatives from the state education and engineering departments. The group focused on refining cadet training and expanding facilities.

Nijhawan praised the institution for its recent work. He urged stakeholders to keep pushing for improvements in their specific areas of expertise. Closing the session, the principal thanked the board and the state government for their backing. She noted the school's progress, stating, "The Chairman, the State Government, and LBA members for their unwavering support and contributions to SSPN’s growth."
