Rare Albino Hog Deer Spotted in Kaziranga National Park

Guwahati: A rare albino hog deer was recently discovered in Kaziranga National Park, highlighting the unique wildlife found within the UNESCO World Heritage site. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared images of the animal on social media, noting that such sightings are an uncommon event.

The Chief Minister stated that the presence of the deer reflects the ongoing commitment to wildlife conservation in the state. He emphasized the importance of protecting rare species within Assam's forests. Kaziranga is already recognized for its vast biodiversity, serving as a sanctuary for endangered animals like tigers, swamp deer, wild buffaloes, and the famous one-horned rhinoceros.
