Guwahati: A pandal in Paulpara is turning heads this Durga Puja. Inspired by Sahaj Path, the classic Bengali primer from Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore, the display brings a heavy dose of nostalgia to the 83rd Margherita Legislative Assembly constituency in Tinsukia district. Crowds are flocking to the site. The design captures a bygone era that has captured the imagination of visitors from all over the Margherita Co-District.
The Margherita Friend Star Club runs the show. This year marks their 46th edition, building on a tradition that started back in 1981. Committee members focus on creative themes to stand out in the informal contest between local groups. Organizers believe the effort pays off. "The pandal brings back memories of childhood and the charm of a bygone era," notes the club. Devotees continue to pack the site daily to seek blessings from Goddess Durga.
