Shillong: Rocks slammed into a home at 11 Mile in Jorabat on August 7. The blast shattered the roof at 4 am. It was a private quarry operation. No one got hurt in the incident.

Residents are fed up. They complain that early morning blasting has become a recurring problem that puts their lives and property at risk. The community now demands that local authorities step in and hold the quarry operators accountable for the damage.

The neighbors want strict enforcement of safety regulations. They are calling for immediate action, stating that authorities must "ensure that blasting activities are carried out in accordance with safety norms to prevent similar incidents in the future."
