Imphal: Police and security forces busted a drug trafficking operation in Manipur on September 19. A joint team from the Senapati Police, CRPF, and Assam Rifles intercepted two men from Assam in the Senapati district. They found 2.3 kg of amphetamine tablets hidden in 10 packets of WY pills. The officers also seized Rs 5,000 in cash and a Mahindra Bolero, registration AS01DT-7707.
Authorities identified the detainees as 23-year-old Rohim Ali of Dariduri and 48-year-old Anowar Hussiain Laskar of Baguan. Both men hail from the Goalpara district. A follow-up investigation led to the arrest of a third suspect, Md Nawaz Khan, from Mayai Leikai in Mayang Imphal. Police stated that they are moving forward with the case, noting, "necessary legal formalities are being completed in both cases."
Officers also tracked down stolen property in separate operations on the same day. In Imphal West, police recovered a Maruti Suzuki Eeco van, registration MN01 AG 4153, at Langthabal. This vehicle was tied to an active case at the Singjamei police station. Meanwhile, the Thoubal district police found a missing Honda Activa scooter, registration MN01 L-6162, at Sangaiyumpham Karanchi. This recovery relates to an ongoing case at the City police station.
