Agartala: Tripura police tracked down and rescued a three-year-old girl following reports that her parents sold her. The child was headed to an Assam resident who bought the toddler in a clandestine deal.
Officers intervened before the buyer could spirit the girl away. The investigation into the parents and the buyer is ongoing. Authorities confirm the child is safe.
Police stated, "Tripura couple accused of selling 3-yr-old daughter to Assam resident; rescued by police." Officials are now working to piece together the events that led to the attempted sale.
