Shillong: East Khasi Hills police are hunting for a Shillong man accused of sexually assaulting multiple women. A photo of the suspect holding an ultrasound report went viral online, triggering widespread outrage. Investigators currently have only one formal complaint on file. The Laitumkhrah Police Station registered that FIR on July 7.

Police are now scouring for the suspect across state lines. Reports suggest he may have fled to Mizoram. Superintendent of Police Dangsan Khyriem confirmed they are working with local authorities to find him. "The FIR was registered at Laitumkhrah Police Station on July 7, 2026. All necessary action has been taken from the police side. As of now, the accused is absconding, and we are making every effort to trace him," Khyriem said.

Social media users claim the suspect targeted several women, including a minor and a relative. Some posts allege he threatened victims with private videos. None of these online claims have been verified. Officials are urging other potential victims to file official reports. The accused's father stated the family has received no police notice. He noted they will work with investigators through legal channels. The father declined to comment on the specific allegations against his son.
