Police Bust Repeat Drug Offender in Shillong Operation

Shillong: Anti-Narcotic Task Force agents cuffed 27-year-old Kasimuddin during a raid in Lumshyiap last Friday. The suspect, originally from Assam's Udalguri district, held 10.42 grams of suspected narcotics. Police moved in after watching him for days. He stood ready to hawk the goods when they swarmed.

This was not his first run-in with the law. Kasimuddin walked out of a jail cell just months ago following a similar drug bust in Khliehriat. Local authorities noted his history of criminal activity. Officials stated, "Police are now conducting further inquiries to trace the source of the drugs and identify other individuals involved in the trafficking network."

Officers hauled him to the Nongmensong Police Station. They booked him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Investigators remain on the hunt for the rest of his supply chain.
