Police blast Congress protesters with water cannons in Jaipur

Shillong: Police in Jaipur deployed water cannons on Monday to scatter Congress party workers. The demonstrators gathered to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Tensions flared in the streets. The activists aimed their anger at alleged irregularities in the SIR of electoral rolls.

Officers moved in quickly to clear the crowd. The high-pressure water spray forced the protesters to retreat. The party remains at odds with the election official over the integrity of voter data.
