Guwahati: Police arrested 25-year-old Dipson Singna in the Sonitpur district of Assam on October 17. The arrest occurred after officers noticed the Karbi Anglong resident acting suspiciously near the Kaliabhomora Bridge. Officers stopped him to check his bag.

The search turned up 34 packets of suspected explosives and 18 detonators. Singna told investigators he obtained the stash from Ani Gompa in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. "Police have launched a further investigation to establish the nature of the recovered materials, their intended destination and the circumstances under which they were being transported," officials stated.

Authorities are still processing the evidence. They have yet to determine what the man planned to do with the haul. Investigators continue to work on the case as they wait for lab results to confirm the exact nature of the recovered items.
