Imphal: A joint team of Manipur Police, the National Investigation Agency, and the Central Reserve Police Force arrested two suspects on Friday morning. The raid hit Leilon Vaiphei village in Kangpokpi district. Security forces acting on intelligence reports detained Pradip and his wife, Ayingbi. The couple faces charges linked to the abduction and death of six Naga civilians.

The men went missing on May 13. Search crews found their mutilated bodies one month later, on June 10. The discovery sparked intense protests across Manipur and forced the NIA to take over the investigation from local authorities.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh addressed the public in Imphal West following the violence. He promised the state would handle the case. "The investigation was progressing and assured that justice would be delivered," Singh stated during the protest.

Police are still working to track down five other suspects linked to the case. Teams continue to sweep through the Kangpokpi area to secure further evidence and make more arrests.
