Peren Election Office Sets Special Intensive Revision Schedule

Kohima: The Office of the District Election Officer in Peren is launching a Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. This move follows an Election Commission of India order. Officials set the qualifying date for October 1, 2026.

Work begins fast. Staff will handle preparation, training, and printing from August 5 to August 14. Booth Level Officers will conduct house-to-house verification starting August 16. This phase wraps up on September 14. The office will publish the Draft Electoral Roll on September 20.

Citizens have time to act. Filing for claims and objections remains open until October 20. Once staff clear those filings, the final roll drops on November 22. The District Election Officer urged residents to assist workers, noting that the agency aims to ensure the rolls remain "clean, accurate and inclusive" for all eligible voters.

Political parties must now select Booth Level Agents for every polling station. These agents keep the process transparent. The goal is simple: keep the voter list honest through public involvement.
