Officials Push for Accuracy in Upcoming Census 2027

Kohima: Joint Director of the Registrar General of India, Mohan K. Tiwari, pushed enumerators in Wokha to prioritize data quality. Accurate records determine the nation's path. He inspected training sessions for supervisors and staff on June 23, framing the process as a essential service for national development.

Tiwari reminded staff that their work directly influences policy and welfare planning. He told the team, "Careful and detailed examination of data and entry of every detail will decide the future aspects of the country."

Meanwhile, officials in Mokokchung held a meeting to promote the switch to a fully digital system. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma called the census the backbone of national planning. The district has deployed 447 enumerators and 83 supervisors for the job.

The house-listing phase starts July 1 and runs through the month. Population counts follow in February 2027. Officials urged residents to use the self-enumeration portal before the June 30 deadline. Senior Superintendent of Police Vesupra Kezo reminded the public that the Census of India Act 1948 keeps all personal data strictly private.
