Kohima: NSCN-GPRN (Reformation) leadership is off the hook. An internal inquiry committee officially tossed out all claims made by expelled member Kavishe Zhimo, labeling them as “false, fabricated and with no locus standi.”
Party leaders held an emergency meeting in Dimapur on June 18, 2026, to address the firestorm. They formed a committee led by senior kilonser Lhoughoto Chishi to dig into the facts. The team finished their work on July 6. They found Zhimo acted out of spite after his suspension for anti-party behavior.
The investigation turned up a messy trail of discrepancies. Zhimo claimed he took part in the first ceasefire agreement, but records show he did not join the group until October 2015. Months after the organization signed their formal ceasefire.
Financial issues pile up, too. The report accuses Zhimo of pocketing roughly Rs 25 lakh while running revenue in Dimapur, plus another Rs 12 lakh from his time as Home Kilonser. The committee claims he used that cash to build his own home in Thilixu Village. He also allegedly tried to defect to other groups three separate times under a fake name.
The committee finally ousted him for smear campaigns and plotting to start a rival party. NSCN-R officials confirmed they are done talking about this case. They expect their members to serve the cause, not drain it for personal gain.
