Kohima: Deputy Commissioner P. Mono Khiamniungan toured Kingjung and Wui villages on July 4. He met with residents to talk about local progress and upcoming projects. The DC demanded total support for the Census 2027 project. He told local leaders that they must help census workers to finish the job right.
Mono praised the Wui villagers for keeping their traditional pottery skills alive. He told them to protect this history. Students at the local primary school got a visit too. The DC urged them to study hard and help their community grow. He stated, "He appealed to the Village Council and the public to extend full cooperation to Census officials to ensure the successful completion of the Census exercise 2027."
SDO Civil Vikhoto Richa noted that these villages belong to the Thonoknyu Aspirational Block. He celebrated the block for hitting the top rank. Richa pushed for better paperwork so residents can actually get government benefits. The villagers didn't hold back. They told the team about bad roads and school struggles, asking the administration to step in.
The visit included help for the locals. Staffers ran medical checks and health clinics. They also set up an Aadhaar desk and helped people open new SBI bank accounts. Social welfare groups hosted sessions on child protection and services for women.
