Kohima: Noklak district kicked off its first phase of the 2027 Census on July 1. This operation covers house listing and housing data across the region. A team of 160 census functionaries and charge officers started the work today. The crews have hit the streets.
Charge Officer Vikhoto Richa led a group of supervisors and enumerators to the residence of Deputy Commissioner P. Mono Khiamniungan at 7 a.m. This site visit marked the official start of the door-to-door count. The process will run daily until July 31.
The Deputy Commissioner serves as the Principal Census Officer for the district. He asked residents to help the teams to make the project work. "He appealed to stakeholders to cooperate and support the census teams to ensure accurate and successful conduct of Census 2027."
