Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha plans to open the new Agartala Civil Hospital shortly. Health Secretary Kiran Gitee confirmed the facility is finished. It will take the pressure off GBP Hospital and IGM Hospital. These two centers currently handle the bulk of the state's medical cases.

The hospital specifically serves residents within the Agartala Municipal Corporation zone. Crews have finalized all infrastructure work. Gitee noted, "The Chief Minister has decided to open Agartala Civil Hospital for the people living in the AMC area. All infrastructure is now ready, and the facility will be inaugurated soon."

The government recently banned private practice for medical staff at GBP Hospital and the Agartala Government Medical College. This policy shift aims to tighten up public health services. Officials expect the new hospital to fix ongoing congestion issues at larger facilities.
