Kohima: Dr. Nusa Lohe led a veterinary team through dense forests to reach isolated livestock. The mission targeted cattle in Mollen village and buffalo herds in Kanjang village. Both are located within the Meluri district.
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Nagaland, reported the effort on X on July 2. They navigated rough terrain using Shaktiman trucks and by walking on foot. Hard work paid off. The team successfully delivered free vaccines to protect the animals from disease.
The department noted that the team provided these services to support local farmers. They also helped these villagers secure insurance for their animals. As the department stated in their update, "Dr Lohe and the team from the Meluri veterinary circle braved tough terrain to reach the cattle of Mollen village and the buffalo herds of Kanjang village."
