Kohima: The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority, working alongside the Dimapur District Legal Services Authority and local administration, hosted a mini legal services camp in Niuland town on June 6. The initiative aimed to connect residents with essential government resources and legal guidance.
Neiko Akami, member secretary of the NSLSA, delivered the keynote address to attendees. He stressed the necessity of universal access to legal resources, stating, "He urged beneficiaries to avail the various schemes and entitlements provided through such camps."
Niuland Deputy Commissioner T.L. Kiusumong Tikhir praised the outreach efforts and pledged the district administration's ongoing support for future programs. The event included opening remarks from N. Longshithung Ezung, who serves as the chairman of the Dimapur DLSA, and a closing vote of thanks from secretary Atoka Achumi.
During the day-long event, staff helped 259 residents navigate various services, ranging from Aadhaar and indigenous status registration to agriculture, social welfare, and banking assistance. Representatives from departments such as transport, forest, health, and labor were present to facilitate access to these entitlements.
