Nagaland Municipal Committee Sets July Meeting in Kohima

Kohima: K. Tokugha Sukhalu is getting the committee together. He called a meeting for July 10, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. The session will take place inside the C. Chongshen Committee Room at the Assembly Secretariat in Kohima.

Sukhalu serves as the advisor and chairperson for the Committee on Urban Local Bodies and Nagaland Village Councils. The group handles oversight for the Nagaland Municipal Act of 2023 and the Nagaland Village and Tribal Council Act of 1978, including all amendments made through 2022.

He sent a direct notice to the participants. Sukhalu requested all committee members to "make it convenient to attend the meeting." The gathering marks a push to review the state's current municipal and tribal council regulations.
