Kohima: Nagaland Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio launched the Nagaland Integrated Information System on Saturday. He made the announcement at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Plaza in Kohima during the 80th Independence Day celebrations. The project acts as a single hub for state government activities, including news, photos, and videos. It connects citizens to government schemes through various integrated APIs.
The Department of Information and Public Relations runs the project with help from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Rio also virtually opened the NIIS Hub at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations. This unit manages all data validation and dissemination. The system aims to speed up service delivery across the state. It makes government data easier to find.
Advisor for Information and Public Relations Daochier I Imchen toured the new hub. He praised the team behind the effort. Imchen said, "The initiative, which was conceived during the tenure of his late father as the then Advisor of the department, had become a reality." He visited the site alongside IPR Secretary Orenthung Lotha and officials from IT and C and NIC Nagaland. Residents can now use the website or the Google Play Store to access these digital services.
