Nagaland Health Minister Recognized for Commitment to TB Elimination Efforts

Kohima: The Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has formally recognized Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister P Paiwang Konyak for his participation as a Ni-Kshay Mitra. This acknowledgment stems from his active support of tuberculosis patients, specifically through the provision of nutritional and food supplements to those currently undergoing treatment.

As a Ni-Kshay Mitra, the Minister contributes to the national Prime Minister's TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, an initiative designed to improve treatment outcomes and patient well-being while advancing the country toward the goal of eliminating tuberculosis. Dr. M Margaret Yhome, Director of Family Welfare in Kohima, presented the official recognition to the Minister.

A press release from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare noted that the award reflects the Minister's dedication to public health and his role in the vision of a TB-free India. The statement added that "such participation also encourages wider community involvement in the fight against tuberculosis."
