Kohima: The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare in Nagaland held an induction program for new medical officers. These doctors recently passed the Nagaland Public Service Commission recruitment process. The event took place at the department conference hall in Kohima on July 28.
Director of Health Dr. Menguzenuo Margaret Yhome chaired the meeting. Principal Director Dr. Mereninla Senlem explained the goals. She said the orientation was "intended to prepare the newly recruited medical officers for their responsibilities and acquaint them with the administrative and professional aspects of government service."
Technical training followed the introduction. Deputy Secretary Kegwachu Tep taught the recruits about office procedures and conduct. He covered service rules, leave policies, the Personnel Information Management System, and APAR file maintenance.
Senior Accounts Officer Peter Swu took the floor next. He detailed financial basics, including pay slips, charge reports, annual increments, and the National Pension System. Staff from the National Health Mission, the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, and the National Quality Assurance Standards also presented. They briefed the doctors on their specific health programs and job duties.
