Kohima: Nagaland tax officials banked 88 crore in June. This marks a 6% jump compared to the same month last year. The Union Ministry of Finance confirmed the boost, marking a recovery from the 64 crore collected in May. The state hit a wall in May, where revenue growth stalled at just 1%.
Revenue jumped by 24 crore since May. The state taxpayer base grew as well, climbing from 11,019 in April to 11,599 by June. Officials report that 4,765 taxpayers are under Central GST control, while 6,834 fall under State authorities. Growth came from existing taxpayers rather than new sign-ups.
The state total post-settlement revenue reached 110 crore in June. This figure includes both local collections and integrated tax shares. It marks a 2% rise over the 108 crore recorded in June 2025. "Nagaland's GST performance in the first quarter of 2026-27 has followed a record start, a seasonal slowdown and a June rebound," noted official reports.
Nationally, the trend remains strong. Gross GST collections across India hit 1,94,812 crore in June, a 13.9% year-on-year climb. Growth in domestic trade remains steady despite shifts in the market.
