Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav met with the Department of Women Resource Development in Kohima on Monday. He reviewed several state-led initiatives. These include the Transformative Livelihood Intervention Project, tribal design protections, and various skill development schemes.
The department outlined plans for a new Myki Hub at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama. This permanent marketplace will serve local women entrepreneurs, farmers, and artisans. Officials expect the construction to wrap up by November 2026 with backing from the Chief Minister’s Innovative Programme Fund.
Department heads also updated the Governor on the construction of Working Women Hostels across multiple districts. These projects rely on funding from the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment initiative. Staff reported significant hurdles during the session. They cited "limited financial resources and manpower" as primary obstacles to their current goals.
Yadav praised the department for its work. He pushed for better coordination between government agencies to get the job done. The goal remains simple. The state wants to create sustainable economic growth for women throughout Nagaland.
