Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav visited the Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Chedema on July 10. He spent the day meeting with doctors, nurses, and support staff to inspect how the facility runs. The hospital sits about 24 kilometers from Kohima.
Union Minister of AYUSH Sarbananda Sonowal opened the 50-bed site on March 4, 2022. It is only the third hospital of its kind in India. It proved its worth during the pandemic by serving as the state's first dedicated COVID-19 center.
Staff reported 10,050 outpatient visits and 560 inpatient cases as of June 2026. The facility treats eight local villages. It offers Ayurveda, yoga, naturopathy, and homoeopathy. They also handle emergency trauma cases before moving patients to the main hospital in Kohima.
Yadav praised the workforce during the review meeting. He noted the hospital had become "a centre of healing and hope" for the people of Nagaland. The Governor pushed for better infrastructure to handle the growing patient load.
The hospital maintains a busy schedule. They run free health camps, host workshops on medicinal plants, and train yoga instructors. Yadav urged the team to keep pushing for better patient care across the state.
