Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav met with Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) officials at Lok Bhavan in Kohima on September 22. The Commission detailed its organizational structure, staffing, and recent testing cycles. Exams moved fast. The body reported 16,433 applications for the Nagaland Civil Services and Allied Services Examination, plus another 5,813 for the NCS and NPS and Allied Services Examination.
The NPSC also processed Engineering, Medical, Technical, and Stenographer exams throughout the 2025 to 2026 period. Between April and August 2026, the Departmental Promotion Committee finished 444 cases, including 163 promotions and 281 regularizations. The Commission updated its syllabi and test patterns for NCS, NPS, and technical services to better measure candidate aptitude and general awareness.
Digital adoption is rising. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology awarded the Commission a certificate for integrating recruitment portals with DigiLocker. This move makes Nagaland the first state in North Eastern India, and the third in the country, to deploy both DigiLocker and eSign tools. Officials called this a step toward "advancing paperless governance and digital public service infrastructure."
Growth creates pressure. The commission warned that surging candidate numbers outpace current exam centers and staff capacity. To fix this, the NPSC intends to build a new examination hall at its complex. Future plans include moving to a three tier exam model for Combined Technical Services and shifting departmental requisitions to an online system.
