Nagaland Governor Pushes to Expand Women Empowerment Programs

Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav met officials at Lok Bhavan in Kohima this Monday. He checked the status of major state projects designed to boost women's livelihoods and economic standing. The governor reviewed specific initiatives like the Transformative Livelihood Intervention project and the promotion of tribal designs. He also examined progress on various Myki activities, the Multi Training Centre, and district-level development programs.

The department highlighted plans for a Myki Hub at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama. This project provides a permanent market for local farmers, artisans, and entrepreneurs. It receives backing from the Chief Minister's Innovative Programme Fund and holds a completion target of November 2026. The governor also received updates on Working Women Hostels under construction in several districts.

Staff cited tight budgets and staffing shortages as primary hurdles. Yadav pushed the team to link up with other departments to maximize their impact. He urged them to stay focused on building long-term financial success for women. During the meeting, Yadav lauded the department's efforts in "empowering women through skill development, entrepreneurship promotion, and livelihood generation." The governor demanded consistent progress to ensure these programs actually improve lives across the state.
