Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav met with the women resource development department at Lok Bhavan in Kohima this Monday. He ordered officials to tighten their coordination with other state agencies to boost program results. The Governor wants to see sustainable economic growth for women across the state.
Yadav reviewed the department’s current work. The list includes the Transformative Livelihood Intervention Project, efforts to protect tribal designs, and the ongoing Myki activities. He also looked at the status of multi training centers and local entrepreneurship initiatives. These projects form the core of the state's plan to help female workers.
Officials provided an update on the Myki Hub at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama. This permanent market space will support artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs. Funded by the Chief Minister’s Innovative Programme Fund, the hub should wrap up by November 2026. Department leaders told the Governor they need more staff and cash to get the job done right.
"Yadav appreciated the efforts of the department in empowering women through skill development, entrepreneurship promotion and livelihood generation."
The Governor also checked on construction projects for working women hostels funded by the SASCI initiative. He pressed the department to keep expanding resource centers and improving how women connect to local markets.
