Kohima: Governor Nand Kishore Yadav toured the Integrated AYUSH Hospital at Chedema on Friday. He met with doctors and nursing staff. The goal was clear: improve infrastructure and expand outreach for the 50-bed facility. Located 24 kilometers from Kohima, the hospital has served eight surrounding villages since it opened in March 2022.
Yadav praised the staff for their work. He said, "The Integrated AYUSH Hospital has an increasingly important role in providing accessible, affordable and patient-centric healthcare." The institution previously served as the state's first dedicated COVID-19 hospital.
Staff reported over 10,000 outpatient consultations since launch. The hospital currently employs 43 people. It offers Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, and Homoeopathy. Patients receive free medicine and low-cost lab services. The facility also handles emergency stabilization for road accident victims.
The review covered current gaps and future needs. Officials highlighted ongoing training for yoga instructors and medicinal plant workshops. The Governor wants the hospital to evolve into a model of excellence. He told stakeholders to keep pushing for innovation and compassion to better serve the people of Nagaland.
