Kohima: Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav ordered the Tribal Affairs department to stop dragging its feet. He wants infrastructure projects finished on time and resources managed better. Benefits must actually reach the people, he said during a review meeting at Lok Bhavan.
Yadav pushed for transparency and better teamwork between stakeholders. The department walked the governor through their current work, including Article 275(1) funding and the Development Action-Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan. They also covered the Pradhan Mantri Adi Adarsh Gram Yojana.
The meeting highlighted the state's Eklavya Model Residential Schools. Three schools are open with 751 students. The news on that front is good. "Officials informed that all three schools recorded a 100% pass percentage in the HSLC Examination 2026."
New campus construction faces hurdles. Land disputes, power shortages, and poor water connectivity continue to delay progress. The governor reviewed these roadblocks with senior department staff to figure out how to get shovels moving again.
