Kohima: Four representatives from Nagaland Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies traveled to New Delhi. They attended the 5th Foundation Day for the Union Ministry of Cooperation on July 6 at Bharat Mandapam. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah led the event.
The group included Opangtemsu from Mokokchung, Atsubou Sanchu and Khriehuto Yase from Kohima, and Lhikhro Kreo from Chümoukedima. These men represented their local cooperative credit societies on a national stage.
The event focused on the government's plans to grow the cooperative movement. Officials discussed how these groups fuel rural development. The members credited the Nagaland Department of Cooperation and NABARD for their support. They said the trip provided a look at the "Centre's vision of strengthening the cooperative movement and promoting inclusive rural development through the cooperative sector."
