Naga Students Federation Demands Justice for Six Slain Men in Manipur

Imphal: The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has condemned the abduction and murder of six Naga men from Konsakhul Naga Village, branding the act a grave crime against humanity. The group discovered the victims' remains on June 10, nearly one month after they were abducted from Leilon Vaiphei Village on May 13.

In an official statement, the federation blamed Kuki militants for the violence and questioned the effectiveness of the heavy security presence across Manipur. They argued that the tragedy highlights a persistent culture of impunity in the state. The organization's leadership, President Eno Mteisuding and General Secretary Kenilo Kent, jointly declared that the incident reflects a failing state, stating, "The incident reflected the continuing culture of violence and impunity in Manipur."

The NSF is pushing for an immediate and impartial investigation to ensure those responsible are prosecuted. Furthermore, the group is calling for the government to revoke the Suspension of Operations agreement with Kuki militant factions. The federation maintains that authorities must be held accountable for failing to protect civilians and has vowed to keep advocating for the families of the deceased.
