Imphal: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has issued a formal condemnation following the murder of six Naga civilians. According to the party, the victims were abducted by suspected gunmen and subsequently killed by an armed group. The bodies of the deceased remained hidden for 28 days before they were discovered.

In an official statement, the NPF described the killings as a barbaric violation of human rights that threatens regional stability. The organization called upon both the Indian and Manipur governments to launch a transparent, impartial investigation to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Addressing the broader impact of the tragedy, the NPF emphasized its dedication to regional stability. "The Naga people have long endured hardship in their pursuit of peace, justice, and dignity. At a time when our people yearn for reconciliation and a peaceful resolution to all unresolved issues, such senseless violence is deeply reprehensible and threatens the fragile peace in the region," the party stated.

Beyond the killings, the NPF condemned an act of vandalism at its Manipur State Unit office in Senapati, which occurred on June 10, 2026. The party urged its members and the general public to remain calm and avoid retaliatory actions that could escalate tensions. They emphasized that violence will not resolve the underlying issues facing the community and reaffirmed their commitment to the safety and security of all citizens.
