MSPDCL schedules power cuts in Imphal West for infrastructure upgrades

Imphal: Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited announced temporary power cuts across parts of Imphal West. Crews will replace bare 11 kV conductors with Medium Voltage Covered Conductors. Workers must clear lines for infrastructure erection, conductor stringing, and system commissioning.

These upgrades fall under the distribution network improvement programme. The company says the new MVCC system will boost grid reliability and power quality. It will also reduce outages from vegetation, lower the risk of electric shocks, and cut down on line faults. The utility expects fewer technical losses and better resilience during storms. Maintenance needs will drop.

Affected areas and specific schedules remain pending. MSPDCL will release these details through division offices, official communication channels, and its website. The company issued a short notice to the public today. They asked for patience while teams execute the work.

"MSPDCL appealed to consumers to cooperate during the implementation of the project and regretted the inconvenience caused by the scheduled power interruptions."
