Guwahati: A young man from Dhemaji district died Tuesday night after his motorcycle crashed into an electric pole near the Assam Legislative Assembly in Guwahati. The rider was traveling from Ganeshguri on a Royal Enfield Himalayan when he lost control and struck the utility pole at a high rate of speed.

The impact caused the motorcycle to ignite immediately, trapping the rider in the flames. He suffered critical burns across his body and face, resulting in his death at the scene. Local residents later claimed that an ambulance failed to reach the site in a timely manner, despite the presence of police officers who arrived shortly after the collision.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the crash. Police personnel are currently managing the aftermath and conducting standard procedural inquiries into the incident.
