Aizawl: Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced a push to slash government red tape. The goal is simple: bring in private investment and jumpstart the economy. His team is cutting down on unnecessary rules and moving services online to save time for residents.
State officials are stripping away outdated procedures. They launched 40 web portals to keep people out of government offices. This strategy leans on the Right to Public Service Act, which hit the books in 2015. The state currently holds the 12th spot in national rankings for ease of doing business.
The second phase of the reform program started in January. It focuses on modernizing laws and fixing administrative roadblocks. Proposals for power, environment, tourism, healthcare, and education already cleared federal review. The Chief Minister expects these changes to yield results soon. "The reforms are expected to reduce the time and cost involved in establishing and operating businesses, remove procedural bottlenecks, encourage private investment and generate employment opportunities across the state," Lalduhoma said.
The overhaul touches everything from land use to logistics. Officials want a system built on trust between the state and its citizens. By simplifying permissions, they hope to make Mizoram a better place to open shop.
