Mizoram Governor Pushes Agriculture as Key to Viksit Bharat 2047

Aizawl: Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh marked June 22 as a turning point for the state’s rural economy. He identified agriculture as the primary engine for the nation's Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. The Governor spoke at the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry in Selesih, Aizawl, during the 15th Research Council Meeting of Central Agricultural University.

Growth requires work. Singh pushed for tighter ties between researchers, educators, and farmers to speed up progress across the Northeast. He argued that the sector holds the power to lift livelihoods and fuel broader economic gains. Success depends on new tech and better farming methods. "Agriculture and allied sectors remain the backbone of the rural economy and can play a transformative role in achieving the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 if managed effectively and sustainably," Singh said.

The Governor wants academic institutions to step up and coordinate with local stakeholders. They must tackle modern farming hurdles to open new doors for rural families. Innovation and research will dictate the speed of this change. Productivity must rise to ensure prosperity stays within the farming community.
