Aizawl: Mizoram Governor and former Army chief, during an event at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on May 16, emphasized the contrast between civil competitive examinations and military recruitment processes. Addressing a gathering of students and youths, he stated that while instances like the recent National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) paper leaks can occur in civilian sectors, the armed forces maintain a system that is entirely transparent and fair.

The NEET-UG exam, which took place on May 3, faced significant scrutiny following widespread reports of paper leaks and irregularities, leading the government to schedule a re-test for June 21. In his address, the Governor asserted that the discipline and motivation found within the military remain unparalleled. He highlighted that the armed forces operate under rigorous protocols that effectively prevent the types of administrative failures seen in other national examinations.
