Aizawl: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma has officially assumed charge of the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department. An order from the Political and Cabinet Department confirmed the transfer of the portfolio from Minister K. Sapdanga to the Chief Minister with immediate effect.
The government stated the change was made in the interest of public service, though officials offered no further explanation for the reassignment. Sapdanga retains his roles overseeing the Home, Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation departments. This marks the second portfolio removed from his responsibility since joining the Cabinet, following the previous reallocation of the Disaster Management and Rehabilitation department.
The shift follows speculation regarding stability within the ruling Zoram People's Movement. Opposition leader Lalchhandama Ralte recently suggested the party is grappling with internal discord. Chief Minister Lalduhoma has firmly rejected these claims, asserting that his legislators remain united and that there is no rift within the party.
