Mizoram Celebrates Olympic Day with Runs and Tree Planting

Aizawl: Mizoram marked International Olympic Day on Tuesday with a morning run and a massive planting drive at Lammual. The event kicked off at 7:00 a.m. sharp. State Environment Minister Lalthansanga and Sports Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar led the proceedings.

The gathering promoted fitness, sports, and green initiatives. Hmar thanked the Mizoram Olympic Association for keeping the annual tradition alive. He pointed to the state's potential to produce future world-class competitors. "I hope that one day, we will not only celebrate the Olympics, but also witness Mizo athletes proudly representing India at the Olympic Games," Hmar said.

Citizens from all walks of life joined the celebration. The day served as a call to action for local athletes. Officials want to see Mizo talent on the global stage soon.
