Kohima: Military Station Zakhama brought local veterans together on July 9. The outreach program focused on the Kohima district. It aimed to bridge gaps for ex-servicemen and their families. Twenty-four veterans and four war widows attended the session.
Officials prioritized the SPARSH pension system. The Officer in Charge of the Ex Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme Station Cell explained new procedures. He clarified recent rules on pension administration and how to handle grievances.
The Director of the Rajya Sainik Board Nagaland detailed active welfare projects. These programs come from the state government and the Department of Ex Servicemen Welfare. An interactive open house allowed attendees to speak up. The Army said the event highlights its "continued commitment towards the welfare of veterans and their families."
The Pension Cell officer discussed new policies and a planned support facility. The event finished with a lunch to boost morale. It served to keep the ties between the military and the veteran community strong.
