Kohima: MGM College faculty gathered at the campus auditorium on Friday for a development workshop. The event aimed to boost research skills and set standards for using artificial intelligence in academic projects. Principal Dr. R.K. Behera and Administrator Fr. Shaiju Philip joined the full teaching staff for the sessions.
Dr. Sangeeta Kumari opened the day by breaking down the mechanics of publishing. She covered manuscript preparation, journal selection, and the nuances of getting work into Scopus-indexed outlets. She focused on the core components of writing high-quality papers while stressing the need for strict publication ethics.
Jemsungba Walling took over for the second half to demonstrate how teachers can use software to aid their work. He showed the staff how to handle literature reviews, manage citations, and boost productivity without sacrificing honesty. "He demonstrated the effective and ethical use of artificial intelligence tools in academic writing and research, highlighting responsible AI practices, literature review, citation management, research productivity and the importance of maintaining academic integrity."
Faculty members fired off questions during an interactive segment to close out the day. Dr. Behera told the group to keep their eyes on the goal. He pushed the faculty to build a stronger research culture by publishing often and adopting new tools with care.
