Kohima: MGM College in Dimapur recently hosted a transformational leadership development session designed to enhance the professional capabilities of its faculty and staff. The June 5 event featured leadership expert Sabastian Samuel, who serves as the Regional Director of Peak Point Leadership in Hyderabad.
During the interactive workshop, Samuel explored the core pillars of effective leadership, emphasizing the necessity of vision, integrity, and ongoing personal development. He encouraged attendees to focus on teamwork, clear communication, and commitment to foster a productive work environment. Participants engaged in various activities and discussions aimed at refining their leadership styles and applying these concepts to their roles within the institution.
Addressing the educators, Samuel defined the essence of a true leader beyond mere titles or hierarchy. He noted that true leadership is defined not by position or authority but by influence, character and the ability to inspire others towards a common goal.
The session also touched on the broader impact of educators, with Samuel urging staff to act as mentors who can meaningfully shape the lives of their students. College Administrator Fr Giju George and Principal Dr R K Behera attended the programme. Following the event, the college administration expressed appreciation for the training and indicated plans to continue hosting similar initiatives to support institutional excellence and professional growth.
