Shillong: NEET aspirants across Meghalaya are demanding a leak-proof examination process. Students from Physics Wallah, Aakash Institute, Meghalaya Star, and Immanuel Coaching Academy report that repeated testing controversies have wrecked their faith in the system. They are bracing for potential re-exams while fearing that any future disruption will leave them emotionally devastated. One aspirant stated, "I hope the system improves and treats every student fairly."
The Tura Based Church Leaders’ Forum joined the call for action on Thursday. They cited three reported instances of 2026 NEET paper leaks and alleged irregularities in the CBSE on-screen marking process. The forum argues these failures have eroded public confidence in national evaluation standards. They demand a thorough, independent, and time-bound investigation into both the NTA and CBSE.
The group also slammed the use of force against peaceful protesters at Jantar Mantar. They maintain that the rights to assembly and dissent remain fundamental. The forum called on the Prime Minister to address the nation and urged the Union Minister for Education to accept moral responsibility for the crisis. As the forum noted, "The Government of India bears both a constitutional and moral responsibility to safeguard the integrity of India’s public examination system."
Aspirants continue to study while carrying the heavy burden of uncertainty. Many echo the sentiment of Lambokmiki Suchiang of Meghalaya Star, who prepares daily for the test and the possibility of a redo. Students remain clear on their objective. They want a system defined by merit, not corruption.
