Shillong: Meghalaya government employees can now pull a slice of their paycheck before payday. The state launched the Early Salary Advance scheme on August 25 to help workers cover urgent bills. Finance Commissioner Dr. Vijay Kumar D introduced the program alongside officials from the Finance Department and NIC Meghalaya.
This move supports Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma’s Vision 2032. The goal is a progressive state. The perk reaches the whole government workforce. Teachers, healthcare workers, and administrative staff all qualify for the advance.
The state picked InstaPe as the service provider. Suryoday Small Finance Bank handles the actual lending. The Directorate of Accounts and Treasuries manages the whole operation. InstaPe links companies with credit tools for staff.
Atul Gupta, founder of InstaPe, weighed in on the partnership. "We are honoured to be empanelled by the Government of Meghalaya for this important initiative. We look forward to delivering our best-in-class services to the employees of the Meghalaya Government and contributing meaningfully towards the broader vision of financial inclusion and financial wellness for all," Gupta said.
