Meghalaya Holds Back on Electric Vehicle Policy Details

Shillong: Meghalaya officials are stalling on electric vehicle incentives. Charging infrastructure plans remain unfinished. Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar confirmed the delay on Wednesday in Shillong.

The state government is moving slowly. They refuse to rush the roll out. Dhar says the cabinet is consulting with the Finance Department to calculate the exact scale of upcoming incentives.

The policy review goes deeper than just cash handouts. Officials are mapping out a charging network and picking which vehicle categories qualify for state support. "The government will not rush the process," Dhar said, explaining that the administration wants a comprehensive assessment of the infrastructure requirements and financial impacts before final approval.
