Manipur security forces arrest three suspected insurgents in tactical operations

Imphal: Security forces and Manipur Police conducted a series of coordinated operations across the state on June 20, resulting in the arrest of three individuals tied to proscribed insurgent groups. The raids also led to the recovery of multiple firearms and ammunition.

Authorities arrested Thangmangjam Naoba Singh, a 31-year-old resident of Imphal West, at his home in Mayang Langjing Tamang. Officials identified him as an active cadre and alleged extortionist for the KCP (PWG). In a separate action near the exit gate of Imphal International Airport, police took 27-year-old Konjengbam Diliver Singh into custody. He is suspected of being an active member of the PREPAK outfit.

A third operation in the Lamphel area resulted in the arrest of Khundrakpam Seitabahon Singh. During this search, security personnel seized two .32 calibre pistols, magazines, and an ammunition box containing fourteen rounds of matching ammunition. While the investigation remains ongoing, authorities have not yet released specific details regarding the intended activities of those detained, stating only that "further investigation into the cases is underway."
