Manipur Police seize narcotics and arrest two in Thoubal district

Imphal: Manipur Police launched two successful anti-narcotics operations in Thoubal district on June 19, resulting in the seizure of illicit substances and the arrest of two suspects. Officers apprehended MM Mustakim, 24, and Md Imtiyaz Ahmad, 18, near Leishangthem Khong Manung under the Thoubal Police Station.

During the arrest, authorities recovered 540 grams of suspected heroin, commonly referred to as brown sugar. Police also seized the suspects' vehicle, a Maruti Suzuki A-Star with registration number MN-06LX-4506. The two men, both residents of Kakching district, remain in custody as investigators process the seized evidence.

In a separate enforcement action the same day, security forces raided a residence at Lilong Leihaokhong. Officials discovered 288 banned SP capsules inside the home of 28-year-old Md Sajid Khan. While the contraband was secured, the suspect was not present during the raid. According to local authorities, "efforts are underway to trace and arrest him."
